Madi & Mario

Hello Amara at Paraiso. This venue was beautiful. It’s a two-story restaurant that faces Biscayne Bay. Madi and Mario had a brunch wedding. I arrived bright and early that morning, around 8am. Mother Nature toyed with us as it was a mix of sun, rain and wind throughout the entire day. Nevertheless, everything was beautiful. You could feel the love surrounding Madi and Mario. Their officiant was Mario’s cousin, who knew the couple personally which made it so authentic and candid. Mario had me laughing behind the camera pretty much the whole day, including during the ceremony as he spoke about how much he loves his lady and how happy this day had made him. Madi was a stunning bride and partied hard with her hubby the whole time. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.

Stunning 12x12, 60 page Coffee Table Album

Guys, when I say an album is worth it, please have faith in me! Firstly, I just love designing them, so you can say I pour my heart and soul into putting them together. There’s something about designing layouts and telling a story that I really appreciate and take pride in doing. Below are some actual photos of Amanda and John’s breathtaking 12x12, 60 page Coffee Table album. I also included the full 60 page layout design so you can take a closer look at the album as a whole.

Side note: A&J had an “after session”, (which I always recommend my wedding clients do). It basically means that you and your partner get to dress up again on a separate date, (it can be before or after the wedding). It takes the “edge” away from having to do them on the wedding day and gives us all a good amount of time to take those romantic and fun photographs.

Check them out and let me know what you think!

The most amazing gift

Abigail turned 5 months old on Saturday. She is beautiful. She brightens up my days and gives me a whole new perspective on life. When people say "children grow so fast", they are absolutely right. We too, change quickly. Time does not stop. We age as the days and years move past us. Abigail makes me realize this more than ever. But she is also teaching me how to slow things down a bit. She is teaching me how to enjoy all the moments and all the little things in life that we need not take for granted. What a gift she truly is.

As you can imagine, I photograph my daughter constantly. My husband and I joke in the morning sometimes, "did you grow overnight?". There was a moment, particularly around the three month mark, when she totally transformed.

For this reason, I am so grateful that I always have my camera by my side. I already have thousands of photos of her on my hardrive. But the ones I know I will cherish forever are the printed ones. Every few weeks I send a batch of photos to print, mainly as 4x6 and I put them in a good old-fashioned album. It's simple, but it's an art form that is becoming extinct as we know it. Photo labs everywhere are shutting their doors because they simply don't have enough business. This is so sad to me! I hear about it all the time, nobody prints their photos anymore! I think it's great to have photos on your phone and share moments on social media, but what will our children have to remember us decades from now? For this reason, I think it is important. I don't print all of them - just a handful or so for every photo session. They don't have to be perfect. In fact, I prefer the ones that are the most candid and raw.

Here's a little glimpse into what has been keeping me so busy these past few months - and what has filled my heart with the strongest love ever :)

When Amanda and John first contacted me, I was on my honeymoon. I was excited to hear from the very first couple to reach out since my own wedding just a few days earlier.

They tied the knot in Jupiter, FL at a very pretty beach club surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Loxahatchee River entering an inlet on the other. Their ceremony was beautiful. It was officiated by Amanda's step-father which made it particularly special for them. About 80 guests gathered on the second floor terrace to witness the event, with the sound of the crashing waves in the background. The way Amanda and John looked at each other would make any romantic tear up. Here are some of my favorites from their big day:

Christina & Ramsey

Christina and Ramsey's wedding took place at the Spanish River Library in Boca Raton, FL. The foliage and backdrop brought me back to when I was a wedding photographer in the Northeast, particularly in the fall. It was a unique location with so many romantic spots. After a brief rain shower, we even got a glimpse of a rainbow. Now that's my definition of a good luck sign! Their friends and family were terrific. The love and support surrounding them was very special and everybody was there to celebrate their union with great energy. Congratulations Christina and Ramsey!! What an awesome party!!

Event Planning & Entertainment: That Awesome Entertainment Co.

I was in such a good mood around baby Milana! She was full of energy, happy and always giggling! I have to admit it was a little contagious and so sweet. This photo session on the beach was a special one. Last fall, I was approached by Style Saves, an organization dedicated to raising funds in order to provide new clothes, school uniforms, shoes, accessories and prescription eye wear to underprivileged children in South Florida. A silent auction was coming up and I was asked if interested in donating my services. I realized that donating a photo session to the cause would help the organization's goals of assisting children in need. A few weeks later, Mia (the winner) contacted me and we organized a session just after the new year with her friend and friend's daughter. The spirit was fun and causal, scheduled on the beach by the end of the afternoon. Below are some of my favorite moments.

If you are interested in donating or finding out more about this wonderful organization, please visit

Ana, John, Nico and baby Alex

Ana, John and their two wonderful children spent a few weeks in South Florida over the Christmas holiday. Before heading down from Pennsylvania, they reached out to me to schedule a session. Nico and his baby brother, Alex were so well behaved! They played, laughed and enjoyed the warm afternoon. We took advantage of the fantastic lighting and captured many beautiful images! Here are some of my favorites.

Bianca & Joseph Wedding Celebration

Congratulations, Bianca and Joseph! What a beautiful love story; and I am a sucker for those!! Yes, one may say that I am inspired by true love and the journey behind the union. Bianca and Joseph married in China earlier this year where they originally met and fell in love. Bianca fell in love with this culturally rich land she also calls "home" because of how deeply connected she is to it now in so many ways. They originally contacted me because they wanted some photos to represent their wedding day as they celebrated with close friends and family one lovely afternoon at the beautiful Matheson Hammock park & beach. Without a doubt, it was clear to see that their compassion for one another is sweet and genuine. Here are a few of my favorites from that day.

Lee & Chris Engagement Session

Lee and Chris were so much fun to photograph! Lee is an attorney and cycling instructor at Flywheel Sports in Miami Beach, FL and Chris is in the commercial real estate industry. Their fun, spontaneous and easy going personalities are so pleasant to be around. It was obvious to me that they love having a good time and enjoy every moment they spend with one another. Their engagement session on the beach could not have been any better. The temperature was perfect and Lee and Chris were very much enjoying themselves; a perfect recipe for great engagement photos. Thank you guys for being so awesome! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the session.

Jen and Mike Engagement Session

Jen and Mike are tying the knot in February, 2016. They told me they have been together for 7 years and he proposed to her over the holidays. They were a pleasure to work with. Not only are they sweet and genuine, their love for each other radiates from within. Photographing their engagement session last weekend was so much fun. We met a few hours before the sunset and captured such awesome photographs. The lighting was absolutely stunning and I discovered that dragonflies are peaceful insects - they were all around us and if you look closely you might see one in the frames below! I also recently learned that in Japan they are symbols of courage, strength and happiness; how fitting. We chose a beautiful location on the beach and I simply asked them to be themselves and enjoy the moment. I am so glad they did; I think the photos speak for themselves. Here are a few of my favorites from this amazing session. Congratulations to you both!!

Maternity session with Karina Betancourt

My good friend, Karina Betancourt is about to have her first child. She is radiating with beauty and jokes about having an "alien" inside of her as baby Lavi moves around, kicks and stretches. Nonetheless, she makes it look easy and elegant. Last week we headed out to a small park filled with beautiful foliage and trees to capture images that she can keep for a lifetime to remember this very special time. I absolutely LOVE this location and photos.

Baby Stella

I first photographed the Finlays about a year ago when baby Stella was just a few weeks old. Stella's grandmother organized a big family photo session with all her children and grandchildren. Ever since then, Silvia (Stella's proud mom) has been wanting to organize a photo session for her children. It seemed appropriate to have one done for her 1st birthday, so we headed to the beach with a few props, a very cute outfit and let the kids be themselves to capture these adorable images. When Silvia first saw the photos, she text me "These are the best pictures I have ever taken with a photographer. You do amazing work" I really appreciated her feedback and was so happy to receive such awesome compliments! Here are a few of my favorite pics from the session.

Eddy & Jeff

When Jeff asked Eddy for her hand in marriage about a year ago in Miami, he asked me to photograph the entire proposal. So when they asked me to head to Mexico with them to photograph their destination wedding, I was so excited! I have seen their relationship blossom into the beautiful partnership they now have and being a part of this important milestone in their lives was an honor. They tied the knot at the outstanding Hard Rock Resort in Riviera Maya with their closest friends and family- and what a wedding weekend it was! This being my first blog post, I would like to say that I am extremely grateful for all the people in my life who inspire my ideas, support my dreams, believe in me and love me. Eddy and Jeff - you have definitely been a part of my journey!
